“Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it’s not all mixed up.” – Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh
Christopher Robin is correct. Organizing is exactly what we should do so that we are “not all mixed up.”
Take our spiritual lives. When we check our spiritual pulse and find it throbbing off the chart–chances are the prayer closet is a mess. When we do, and do, and do some more; and still feel unsatisfied—chances are we’ve majored on the minor things of life.
When we go and go and then go again; and all we feel is road weariness—chances are we need to claim the promise that we are found…not lost. Stop the journey. Realize we’re already home. Someone else paid the price. We couldn’t pay, even if we wanted to.
If we would just take the Christopher Robin approach.
Prayer. Silence. Scripture. It helps.
Calm the pulse. Stop the running. Claim the gift. I feel better already.
